We offer a free, telephone counselling service run by accredited counsellors to women of any age who are affected by domestic abuse. The service gives women the opportunity to be counselled in the convenience of their own home and also provides an added level of anonymity and confidentiality. We generally offer 8 – 10 sessions initially and sessions are done weekly. Counselling not only helps women deal with the emotional trauma of domestic abuse but also facilitates growth, empowerment, assertiveness and independence. The most common issues raised during counselling include physical abuse, rape, cultural pressures such as arranged marriages and loss of identity and relationship issues.
