Advice & advocacy
We provide advice and information to women affected by domestic abuse on benefits and welfare rights, immigration issues (including no recourse to legal funds and the rights of non-British citizens), children’s and young people’s issues, legal support, housing, and financial support.
We give time to offer emotional support – offering the support of someone to talk to, to advise on various options available towards safeguarding. We also provide support with legal remedies and court hearings. We will work through the obstacles which create barriers to actions or decision-making for those we work with.
GP and NHS Domestic Abuse Specific Support: We support GPs by taking referrals via a special web tool which we are scaling up to reach more people to encourage early intervention (The Lotus). The tool is designed to simply, safely, and quickly enable either GPs to make a referral for a patient or for individuals to make self-referrals from GP surgeries.
