Empowerment & Resilience

The Jasmine Project:

This service provides access to learning and skill sharing opportunities, particularly for those individuals who have already been supported with domestic abuse but feel isolated in the rebuilding of their lives.

Women can participate in 12 sessions, covering a variety of topics that support mindfulness, knowledge and resilience;  8 sessions for managing homes plus we run drop in support every Tuesday and Wednesday 10:00am-4:30pm.

Resilience, Knowledge and Mindfulness (12 Day programme)

Topics include*:

  • Reprogramming thinking, mind-maps
  • Women on a platform- starting your own business
  • Legal workshops and advice
  • Cooking/tailoring/ beauty
  • Homemade cosmetics
  • Children and well-being
  • Mapping and goal setting tools
  • Leadership
  • Access to education and employment
  • Physical and mental health with a qualified personal trainer.

Managing the home programme

Topics include*:

  • Financial management- budgeting and money saving advice
  • Basic DIY skills- session run by qualified builder
  • Computer skills- internet safety, online support services.
  • Housing advice and guidance- tenancy, mortgage arrears.
  • Car maintenance- provided at local service garage
  • Women supporting women – sharing stories, success overcoming struggle.

We also host befriending and on-going learning groups. They are based in a safe and confidential environment. The purpose of these groups is to cover topical issues that are relevant to the women and to provide education and information.  These groups provide a safe space for women to come together in a non-judgemental environment.
